Merryfield Pre-School
Our Pre-school is a community pre-school of charitable status managed by a committee of parents. It is situated at St Mary and St Peter's First school,Ilton. We have a well equipped Pre-school classroom with facilities for the children to take part in the following activities, both on their own and in groups:-
Painting and other creative activities, singing, early computer skills, cooking, gardening, musical instruments, dressing up, construction toys and a book corner.
We are also very fortunate to have a secure outside area where the children can enjoy playing with sand and water, ride bikes and play various ball games.
We offer Pre-school sessions for children from 2 1/2 years of age, where they can stay until they start school. We also offer a "two's group" which children from the age of 2 years can attend for 2 hours once a week until they are ready for pre-school.
We work closely with St Mary and St Peter's First School to ensure the children's entry into school is as smooth as possible. Throughout the children's time at Pre-school we make visits to the school in small groups, with a member of pre-school staff. The reception teacher and Headteacher will also visit the pre-school.
