WARNING
Following concerns at recent parish council about the lack of policing and doubts that all crime reported is being noted by local police it has been suggested that a parish record of crime is kept so that the parish council can use it to ask questions of the police and enable them to challenge the claim that there is little crime in our parish.
If you have been a victim of crime, no matter how trivial you feel it is, please give details including dates, crime number recieved from police and any response you may or may not have had from the police to either Mandy or the Parish clerk.
There has been a number of break-ins to outbuildings and garages recently. In some cases nothing appears to have been stolen. It may be possible that the intruders may just be eyeing up what you have and may return. Please take precautions with good quality locks, move any valuables to a secure place and report anything suspicious you may see around the village to the Police on 01275 818181. Please also report all incidents to the Police on this number, even if you do not think anything was taken. This may help build a bigger picture and possibly some action may be taken if enough people report crime.
Remember to call 999 if you are in any doubt.

Would you like to join a club that is free, that helps to prevent crime, and only takes 2 hours each month and can save you money on your insurance?
Then Neighbourhood Watch needs you.
We are trying to involve all of Ilton, but we need your help.
How it works: firstly we need as many co-ordinators as possible. A co-ordinator can involve as many houses as they want. It may be a whole street, it does not matter, you choose. Then we ask you to be vigilant Anything you see that is suspicious, it may be a stranger walking up and down, a strange car at a strange time.
We then ask you to telephone two other co-ordinators who will in turn telephone two more and so on. This enables us to watch whatever it is and if necessary telephone the Police.
Once we have co-ordinators we will be able to hold an informative meeting with the Police to set up an official scheme.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE telephone the number below if you can spare just a little time and help to keep our village safe for all of us.
IT DOES WORK!!!
Please telephone Mandy Bulgin on 01460 55255
