24 Jun 2004 - Local Youths in athletics championships
Three local youths from Ilton represented Yeovil in the senior track and field championships, their names are Graeme Smart, Gordon Hickton and Ricky Anderson.
Ricky anderson went on to be selected to represent somerset in the sw england championship running the 100mtrs and the 4x100 relay.
Gordon entered for javelin and discus.
Graeme entered Javelin,100mtrs and 4x100 relay.
Ricky entered 100mtrs, 200mtrs and 4x100mtrs relay.
They did extremely well against strong opponents of which there were many hundreds and only 120 went through to represent somerset of which Ricky was one of the 120 and as we are only a small village, it is a wonderful achievement. Well done.
