
This is the Ilton Home Guard during the second world war (when their uniforms finally arrived). It is taken on the village green - you can see the spreading chestnut tree and the farm in the background. My father Donald Baker is front row, second from right. The only other person I can identify is Thomas Horsey, farmer from Ilford, front row third from left and, I think, his brother Jack, extreme left, back row.
