Dog Mess
Complaints have been made about the amount of dog mess in and around the village, including the children's play area. The council has provided a couple of dog bins in the village, one is near the bus shelter and the other one is near Spurwells. The district council empties these regularly. We would also remind people that the playground should not be used to exercise dogs in. Please respect the area for the use it is intended for, as a recreation field, and for obvious reasons of health and cleanliness please DO NOT allow dogs into the fenced off area. Back to top
Whist Drives
Whist Drives are held in the Memorial Hall every fortnight.

If you would like to Come along and join in please contact Primrose Carter on 54006.

Footpaths
There are a number of very pleasant walks around the village on public footpaths. Most of these are marked with posts. They are walked regularly to check if they are accessible and all the gates are in good order. A map showing the footpaths and rights of way around Ilton is available from Mr C.Carden on Should you find any problems with any of the footpaths, please contact Mr Carden.

The Parish Council have been asked by the owner of the property to inform people that there is no right of way across the land at the end of Merrifield lane and that it is private land. Back to top

A new gardening club is hopefully due to start in the village this year. Whilst we know from the results of our survey that this is what a lot of the villagers would like, we have some core people willing to make it happen, but we would still like a few more people to make it a success.

If you can help in any way (arrange trips, collect money, arrange speakers, help with refreshments or help with setting up the room each month), in fact anything, then please come along to a pre-garden club meeting in the village hall on Friday 7th May at 7:30pm. Back to top
